Cape to Cape route
As Volkswagen AG published it´s second official press release (www.touareg-capetocape.com/about) yesterday, we want to explain our route a little bit more detailed. On Sunday, September 21st, we will start in Nordkapp, Norway. From there we´ll drive southbound through Scandinavia, take the ferry from Røgby to Puttgarten, from where we´ll drive to Turkey via Czech, Slovakia and Bulgaria.
In Hatai, we take a chartered plane (AN 74) to cross the Mediterranean Sea into Mersa Matruh in Northwest Egypt. Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tenzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe will follow on the classic Eastafrican route, until we arrive in South Africa. At the southernmost tip, Cape Agulhas, we´ll finish our world record drive after about 17.000 km. All this happens - at least if nothing happens unexpectedly - in less than 10 days.
