We are again driving in a Volkswagen Touareg, this time in a new "Facelift” Volkswagen Touareg V6 TDI, which will be released at European VW dealers starting October 2014. The Touareg became some kind of a “home” for us, as our two long distance world record drives before has also been driven with a Touareg. For our 2014 world record drive, the Touareg has been modified to be capable of taking this extreme challenge from Norway to South Africa. Stronger shock absorbers, larger Goodyear tires, a roll cage and extra strong head lights have been added to the Touareg as well as additional Diesel tanks with 110 litres capacity each, enabling us to drive 3000km without a fuel stop.

For food supply we have a Waeco fridge inside and Hewlett Packard equipped the Touareg with special measuring instruments, providing live information for HP app users about the Touareg’s acceleration, brake performance and the pitch of springs at every second of our world record drive. Only 12 days until we´re getting on the road - keep up with us!
