The wedding - that´s at least what Germans say when engine and chassis come together. And this is what the CapetoCape team and the mechanics Johannes and Benjamin who especially came from Germany to help us here, could celebrate last night at CFAO Motors Tanzania. After a very short night and the drive to the workshop in the morning rush hour we had our big moment - at 10.30 the team turned the ignition key. Relief and happiness for all mechanics, helping hands and of course the team. The engine started immediately and ran just as calm as a Volkswagen TDI engine runs.

The biggest question mark is checked now. Team leader Rainer Zietlow announced the new goal right away. At 4 a.m. we want to say "Goodbye Dar Es Salaam" and goodbye to everyone, who stood by our sides and was helping us during the last 1,5 weeks. We want to say thank you and goodbye to Wayne McIntosh, Udo Kusch and the complete CFAO Motors team here in Dar Es Salaam. All of you did a great job - we came as guests and leave as friends.

But until we leave, there´s still a lot of work to do. The Touareg has to be packed and the Sponsoring Design has to be reattached. We are confident to reach this goal today, even if the workshop lights only go out late again.

When we leave tomorrow morning, we say goodbye to our mechanics Johannes Lomb and Bejamin Krenzer, who will return to Germany with some impressions of working together with African Volkswagen mechanics. We do also say goodbye to Alexander Rauch from IAV measurement engineering, who came to Dar Es Salaam spontaneously today, to ensure that you can follow us on our way to Cape Agulhas, just as you used to on www.touareg-capetocape.com and www.facebook.com/Rainer.Zietlow.Challeneg4

And we say goodbye to Christian Altmann and Dana Packert, but only shortly, as we´ll see you down at Cape Agulhas.

For all motivating messages and crossed fingers, a big thank you goes to out to our sponsors and follower, who were with us through all of these days.

Touareg CapetoCape - we´re on the road again!
