After a stressful journey of 500 km from Iringa to Dar Es Salam, we took up our "crisis-office". Team leader Rainer Zietlow has to organize everything now and can really count on the team of CFAO, the national Volkswagen importer here in Tanzania.

Of course the disappointment is stuck in our minds, since we would have been welcomed in Cape Agulhas on Monday and could have had a rest after the exhausting trip. Together with our sponsors, partners and family we could have recapped all of what we´ve seen and experienced.

These exhausting days are still ahead now. We´ve had a mission to complete with Ms Hansen´s message from Nordkapp. She has probably also tracked the delivering status online - "Ms. Hansen, we are working on your sending to your colleague in Cape Agulhas - that´s our promise!"

But we did also have another mission. We wanted to show that it is possible to drive from North to South in this world without being endangered, that people are open and welcoming - we´ve seen all this on the borders of the 16 countries we´ve crossed so far.

Also at the scene of the accident and in crisis management now, we feel a strong team spirit. We really like to remember the young guy, who digged the earth from underneath the Goodyear tires of the Touareg with a pickaxe and amazing accuracy to get it onto the right height, so the Touareg could be put on the trailer. Also Wayne Macintosh, the responsible manager of Volkswagen Tanzania, did an amazing job when he built a network of support with his personal humor and charm in only minutes.

We also have to thank our fans and followers, for all that we´ve seen - you support us and encourage us to continue our tour, just as truth is stranger than fiction.

The Touareg is on the service lift and we are confident that everything will be fine….let´s go for it!
