  • World Record Run (from Norway to South Africa)

The detour around Lübeck´s rush hour was the right thing to do, as we could see when we arrived in Puttgarden - quickly we saw the favorite traffic sign of all German drivers. Just before 9 a.m. we reached the fuel station in Berlin. We were happy for this short slack time, since some friends and a TV team popped over. We answered the journalists´ questions about the world record drive and they followed the procedure of our fuel stop with interest.

In Berlin we did also have the chance to upload our first Video Clip which you can now watch on www.touareg-capetocape.com/video and facebook.com/Rainer.Zietlow.Challenge4. We hope you enjoy this small insight into our tour - more videos will follow every day.

Afterwards, we drove to Prague via Dresden, where we experienced the dark side of the German Autobahn: traffic jam. But Volkswagen Czech was there to help us out. On the border of the Czech capital, a guide waited for us to route us through the heavy traffic of Prague. Many thanks for that special service - these minutes were very helpful to get us into our schedule again after the long media stop in Berlin.

Behind Prague we could also leave the rain behind, which had followed us from Scandinavia to Eastern Europe. We´re on our way to Bratislava, hometown of our VW Touareg… Now its time for dinner - Marius, could you prepare some sandwiches? You are sitting in the "kitchen" anyway!
